Many, many, many stars for this!

That museum is amazing. I was very fortunate to attend with a retired Navy pilot, who knew a bunch of great stories.

The SR-71 still looks like the future. The space shuttle looks so big and complicated it's amazing it ever worked. It just goes on and on...thanks for sharing the photos!

I was just there a couple of weeks ago, and will be posting my own pictures at some point. Sadly, I only had a couple of hours there. It's an incredible collection. What I tell people is that, for example, it's not a B-29 painted like the Enola Gay, it is THE Enola Gay. It's not a 707 painted like the Dash 80, it's THE Dash 80. So many historic planes, it's hard to take it all in in just one visit. I need to go back. Sadly, it's a 1500 mile drive for me.

I wish I lived / worked nearby, I'd be a regular. There's just so much to see.

Like there was a display of some enormous radial engine from WWII, which really gave you an idea of how complicated it would be to keep them running—especially for young guys in the field. And then nearby you see one of the original BMW jet engines for the Me262, looking so simple in comparison. Just wild.

No kidding I was there a couple of weeks ago too! Were you the other weirdo staring at the planes with wide eyes and a slight drool?

I've been lucky enough to go there twice a few years back - on school trips for a NASA grant-funded rocketry program I was part of. LOVED this museum and can't wait to make it back there one day.
